Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Kibble is built privacy-first. The feed works without an account, we don't run ads, and we collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Who we are
Kibble ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile app and website that summarises technology and AI news into short cards. You can reach us any time at support@kibblebites.com.
Information we collect
- Reading without an account. You can browse the feed and open original sources without signing in. Sign-in is required for wishlist, likes and the app's share action.
- Account and profile. Google sign-in supplies your name, email address and Google account identifier to our authentication provider, Supabase. Google's basic profile response may also contain a profile-picture URL; Kibble does not display or fetch that picture. We do not request access to your Gmail inbox. Existing email-and-password accounts can also sign in through Supabase, which verifies their credentials. You may edit your display name, enter an optional designation or job title, and choose an optional profile photo. Photos you choose are resized and stored privately with your account in Supabase; they are not published in the feed. You can replace or remove your photo in Profile.
- Wishlist and likes. We store the stories you save or like and the time of those actions in your account so they can sync across devices. You can remove them from their lists.
- On-device data. The app stores your sign-in session, onboarding choice, cached feed and copies of your own saved and liked stories. Account copies are kept separate for each user.
- Optional usage analytics. With permission, PostHog helps us measure visits, feed usage, source clicks and saved stories using an anonymous device identifier. We do not send names, email addresses, search terms or form contents, and session recording is disabled. Declining does not affect reading.
- Error monitoring. Kibble’s website, web app and content-refresh service use Sentry to diagnose technical failures. We disable session replay and filter account details, cookies, request bodies and URL query parameters from error reports. This is separate from product analytics.
- Service logs. Our hosting and authentication services process connection information, including IP addresses and request logs, to operate and protect the service. The current Android app does not send product analytics or crash reports to a separate analytics service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we use information
- To provide and maintain the feed and your saved content.
- To sign you in and sync your profile, wishlist and likes.
- To diagnose and fix technical problems.
Third-party services
We use Google for sign-in, Supabase for authentication and account storage, and Vercel for the website. Public source material is processed by an AI service to prepare summaries; account profiles, wishlist and likes are not included in those summary requests. Original-source pages, their cover-image hosts and apps you choose from the share sheet have their own privacy policies.
Data retention
We keep your profile, optional uploaded photo, wishlist and likes while your account exists. Successful in-app account deletion removes those records from the active database. Infrastructure logs and backups follow our providers' retention policies. Public articles are not personal account records and remain available to other readers.
Delete your Kibble account
In the app, open Profile → Delete account and confirm. This deletes your Kibble profile, uploaded photos, wishlist and likes; it does not delete your Google account. To request deletion without the app, email support@kibblebites.com from your Kibble sign-in email address. We may need to verify that you own the account before acting on the request. Never send a password.
Delete data without deleting your account
In Profile, use Remove photo to delete your uploaded photo, or Edit profile to clear your optional designation. Open Wishlist or Liked stories and toggle the saved or liked action off to remove an item. To request removal of these records without the app, email support@kibblebites.com from your Kibble sign-in email address and identify the data to remove. Your account remains active. Removed records leave the active database; infrastructure logs and backups follow our providers' retention policies.
Your rights & choices
- Read the feed without creating an account.
- Edit your name or optional designation, replace or remove your profile photo, remove saved or liked stories, or sign out in the app.
- Access, correct or delete your account data by contacting us or using in-app account deletion.
- Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/DPDP), you may have additional rights over your data — email us to exercise them.
Children
Kibble is intended for a general audience of 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
